When Karlheinz Böhm came to East Belgium a quarter of a century ago and met with political leaders and the public, he declared:
‘There is no first, second, or third world. We all live on one and the same planet, for which we share responsibility.’ East Belgians answered loud and clear ‘TRUE’.
East Belgians live in a borderland, have always overcome borders and have perceived their neighbours as partners. They have proven that this is also true when the borders are on the African continent. Eastern Belgians stand up for their own rights, but do not forget those of their fellow human beings in the Ethiopian highlands.
In the past 25 years, we have invested over one million Euros, building two sickbays, eleven spring wells, 50 hand pump wells and five schools with 68 bright classrooms, bringing smiles to the faces of thousands of Ethiopian men, women, and children.
For 25 years, Menschen für Menschen-Belgien East Belgium says THANK YOU.
